This year, Music in Schools celebrates a decade as a thriving educational program! Engaging students through concerts, master classes, performer interaction and hands-on experience, the program involves elementary classes in Rio Rancho, Jemez Pueblo and Corrales Elementary School (CES) plus additional middle and high school activities. Last year in Corrales the program brought unusual music and unusual instruments to 1st thru 5th grades with the help of CES administration and PTA. We share a vision to make CES a focal point for arts education, enriching our community. A very successful program at ARCA’s La Paloma greenhouse in Corrales, begun by MIS, is now managed by ARCA. As with all educational programs, funding is a challenge and we are grateful for the generosity of the Corrales Kiwanis Club, the CES PTA, friends in the Corrales community, and the Corrales Cultural Arts Council. Your involvement would be welcomed.
