Now in its ninth year, Music in Schools connects young people with many kinds of music. In a vibrant, meaningful, and lasting way, students are engaged through concerts, master classes, interactions with performers, and hands-on experience with a wide variety of music, musicians and instruments. Last season this growing program embraced elementary students in Rio Rancho, Corrales and Jemez Pueblo. With the participation of the Corrales Elementary School administration and associated PTA, students participated in monthly music and dance programs. After two years, the very successful music program for disabled workers at the Corrales greenhouses was transferred to ARCA management. Each year presents a stimulating challenge as we increase the quality and quantity of this outstanding educational outreach program. We share a vision to make Corrales Elementary School a haven for arts education and enrich our community in other dimensions.
